Laminate make-over.

It all started with a wall that wasn't supposed to be there, and ended with... well, we'll wait on that.
This kitchen floor was put down over top of the foundation for a wall, mistakenly built when the house was constructed. The initial owner had them chip it away, and after time a black stain from moister, and bumps appeared through the linoleum. You can see a ridge of bumpiness in this photo...

Keep a level head.

The slab that the house rests on has settled or sunken down from the foundation walls, so to level it off in preparation for the flooring, some self-leveling compound was used.

Covering up.

More self-leveling compound was needed to level the area where the unwanted wall had incroached into the kitchen.

Time Back to the beginning.

Perhaps I should mention, that when a woman is involved everything has to match, be done all at once, and be done NOW!!
Therefore the ceiling had to be painted, and all the walls had to be painted (different colours mind you) before the flooring was even considered. Well, it makes sense, so this photo shows the wall paper stripped away in preparation for painting. The molding strip was left to divide the upper light green from the lower darker green. Here you go...

Thumbs up Back in place

Here, with the floor down, and all the furniture in place, the place looks pretty good...

Talking What an improvement

Well, you've got to admit, looks a heck of a lot better than that old lumpy linoleum...

Thumbs down Better than lumpy linoleum?

The only real lumps in question, are the ones on your head! Don't you know that when something looks too good, you only have to work harder to maintain it?
Where's your head at Jerry? Do I have to tell you everything? Bah !

Cool Large area

Here's a good view of the family room, which allows you to appreciate the beauty of the wood over a large area...
